Chorus

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Anne Louise and Katy love to sing. On my side, their great-grandfather was in the 1943 cast of the Grand Ol Opry, their grandmother has a great ear and understanding of musical theory, and their Pa…well you prolly already know about him. When you get my family together aunts and cousins and siblings are all playing and singing and harmonizing. Ella Grace gets her musical ability from her dad, best as we can see so far. ha. Anyway, Anne Louise’s sings in the chorus at school, participates in worship arts at church and loves to be in a play anytime she can. This year they got fancy dresses for chorus at school and she looked so grown up all of a sudden.

Confirming Faith in Jesus

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Anne Louise was sprinkled with baptism waters as a baby, almost 12 years later she stepped into the water of her own freewill and made a profession of faith in front of her family and friends. Our church offers all sixth graders a course in what we believe about God, called “confirmation” and she took this opportunity very seriously. She took responsibility for all the homework, kept notes and a prayer journal, and made a decision for herself to go into the water.

We’re pretty proud.

Friend since age 1, Nicole, and her mom Linda

Teaching Pastor John Schmidt who gave great answers when she asked great questions.

Later that night at the confirmation service.

Grandonna and Pop Pop. She made the beautiful white dress Anne Louise is wearing.

She was asked to give a testimony at the banquet before the service. It was a very special day.

First weekend in May, Anne Louise played the role of Oliver Twist in her school’s production of “Oliver!” Clearly her family thought she was phenomenal, but so did everyone else we heard talking!

The Sound of Music

This week Anne Louise and I were in Frazer’s production of “The Sound of Music”. Over 1,700 people saw the play over a 4 day period. Anne Louise played Brigitta von Trapp and I played the Baroness Elsa Shreader.

The set was phenominal! Really the whole production was very professionally done. For one of the scene’s we used this wardrobe…the SAME wardrobe that was used for Anne Louise’s school production of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” last spring.

The school borrowed it from our church! We made a bunch of good new friends and hope we have the chance to do it again soon! Pics can be seen at passkids.com/gallery
